For the mother

If you missed a period than that is a good sign you are pregnant. Some other indications of pregnancy are:
nausea through the day
a sudden aversion to familiar foods and drinks
very tender breasts
dizziness during the day
some increase in the vaginal discharge
moodiness

For the baby

At the end of the first month of pregnancy, your baby is known as an embryo. He or she has a small heart allready, and a doctor can always detect a heartbeat. Your little baby is about the size of a small pea now. The first weeks are the most vulnerable for your unborn baby, so it's time to think about your lifestyle. Stop smoking and don't drink any alcohol or caffeine and take care when handling pets such as cats to avoid parasite infections.
